Marilyn Gusmano

Marilyn’s journey in movement began early through competitive gymnastics, elite dance teams, and kickline, earning numerous awards across New York State. Her passion led her to collegiate dance programs at Old Dominion University and California State University Long Beach, and later to a degree in Elementary Education from Dowling College. She went on to teach and coach dance in both New York and Florida, leading the Wellington High School Dance Team to 2nd place at the National Dance Association Competition.

In 2000, Marilyn transitioned into Pilates, studying with world-renowned instructors including Elder Mary Bowen and members of Romana Kryzanowska’s lineage. She holds multiple certifications, including from PhysicalMind Institute, IM=X, and the comprehensive Polestar Studio/Rehab program. She’s also certified in Balance Body Barre, BalleCore®, and as an A.F.A.A. Group Fitness Instructor and Advanced Personal Trainer.

Marilyn brings over 24 years of Pilates experience to her teaching, along with a strong background in choreography and rehabilitation-focused movement. Her passion for education and wellness continues to grow through national conferences and mentoring new instructors. Known for her dynamic and supportive style, Marilyn empowers clients to move with confidence, strength, and joy.

STUDIO POLICIES

NEW CLIENTS

  • New Client Forms must be completed, signed, and dated before your first session.
  • Your instructor will review these forms with you prior to class to address any questions or concerns.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first appointment.
  • All sessions are by appointment only – call us at 561-493-4966 or Book Online to schedule.

SCHEDULING & PAYMENT

  • Pre-payment is required for all Private, Semi-Private, and Group sessions.
  • Please register online or call before attending any class.
  • All sessions—Private, Semi-Private, and Group—are 55 minutes in length.
  • Schedule is subject to change; clients with pre-paid reservations will be notified of any changes.

CANCELLATIONS

  • Private & Semi-Private Sessions: 24-hour cancellation required to avoid full charge. You may cancel online, by phone (561) 493-4966, via email at info@pilatesstudio1.com, or by texting your instructor directly.
  • Group Classes: 12-hour online ONLY cancellation required to avoid full charge.
  • All purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

GROUP CLASSES

  • Due to safety considerations, only intermediate and advanced clients approved by a Pilates Studio 1 instructor may join Equipment Classes.
  • New to equipment classes? Start with our Welcome to Pilates Special.
  • All group classes are 55 minutes in length.
  • Class sizes are limited to ensure quality instruction: Equipment classes have a maximum of 6 clients, and group mat classes have a maximum of 10 clients.

STUDIO GUIDELINES

  • Please remove your shoes upon entering the studio.
  • Sticky socks are required during all exercise sessions.
  • Inform us of any changes in medication, diet, lifestyle, or health.
  • Attendance twice weekly is recommended for best results and safety.
  • Filtered water is available on-site.
  • Illness or injury may require your doctor's approval to resume exercise.
